Gourmet West Coast pies are now on offer to guests, along with entrées and desserts, for those who feel like eating in instead of driving out to dinner. This pie is wild venison and bacon - delicious!

Oops - better late than never! Here's our guest book entry of the month for April. The photo was taken by this guest as well. We are now officially in our off-peak season, with fewer visitors from overseas in the country. But we are still happily welcoming many guests to #viewwitharoomnz - and there's something very special about this place in cooler weather. The beach feels wilder and the milky way seems close enough to grab and hold at night!

It was hard to choose our favourite guest book comment for this month. We've had guests throughout the month, including two elopements. So many of our one-night guests wrote how they wished they could have stayed for longer. Some saw dolphins from the room, others say they loved sleeping to the sound of the ocean. This comment seemed to sum up the general feeling though. If you need a peaceful, nature-soaked getaway, what are you waiting for? We'd love to have you here.

Juvenile weka are out and about at @viewwitharoomnz - this was one of three little ones exploring with its mother today. No, they’re not kiwis, but just as cool!

The red pohutukawa flowers are out, which means Christmas is nearby. And in Christmas tradition, there’s no room at the inn at @viewwitharoomnz as we close for a few weeks to let family and friends also enjoy our special piece of paradise. We look forward to welcoming more guests next year though, and are excited to now be offering elopements on site as well! Whether you are a past or future guest, season’s greetings to you, and we look forward to giving you a beachside break to remember here one day soon!
